Meet the teacher!
Howdy! My name is Madie! I am a 19 year old college student who is super blessed to share my love of line dancing. For me, line dancing started out as an escape. I had been struggling with my confidence and self identity for some time and came to the realization that I didn’t have many hobbies, if any at all. So, I began dancing every Sunday night at a local bar just a few months ago. I always thought that you had to go out with a group of friends, but I’ve learned that all you need is yourself and a positive attitude! I was born and raised in Vernon, CT along with my 3 siblings. I grew up around country and rock music, and quickly fell in love with line dancing as many of the dances are choreographed to that type of music. I was a dancer for many years and found that I could pick up the dances rather quick. I started recording and posting videos of myself dancing on social media and quickly started getting attention from different artists and people all around CT. I believe line dancing is a great form of exercise! I burn an average of 1500 calories from one singular night of dancing! Overtime many people would ask me how I remember so many dances and now I’ve been requested for lessons… so here I am!
Line dancing is a choreographed dance that is performed in a repeating sequence of steps. The dances are usually performed in lines or rows, all facing the same direction! Many of the dances go to country music, but as line dancing has recently began to gain popularity, more types of music have been intertwined.
I can’t wait to see y’all on the dance floor!!!
